💬 Sunday Reflections #61 (time to start)
the thing you've been putting off + upcoming April announcement
Hi! This is Leyla from A Day Well Spent, a newsletter seeking pathways to more purposeful living.
April 🌷
The thing about time is that it doesn’t hang around. It offers few pleasantries in an attempt to get to know us. The moment is here and then the moment is gone; if you weren’t paying attention, you’ve already missed it.
And so can you believe, a quarter of the year has vanished already - three months, just like that. Whooosh.
If you are human, there’s a fair chance you’ve entered April with that thing you wanted to start in 2025 but haven’t quite got around to yet, nagging on your conscience like a small child pulling a sleeve in want of attention.
Time to bring it into the light and commit. That’s what today’s reflections is about.
Welcome to Sunday Reflections ☕
For new subscribers welcome to Sunday Reflections, our twice monthly gathering. This is our intimate and friendly space for community and accountability. And the last (or first) Sunday of the month is always a juicy one.
How it works
On two Sundays each month I pose a prompt or question which we discuss (and say hi) in the comments.
Topics tend to cover self-empowerment and personal growth and these regular check-ins allow us to share our wisdoms and get to know ourselves and the other members of the A Day Well Spent community better.
Feel free to have a browse through previous Sunday Reflections to get an idea of the stuff we talk about.
Before we begin, the March round-up
In case you missed them, here are all the published pieces from last month in one handy list.
I figured it was about time I shared my most used cookbooks, from a collection of many. These are the five I could not do without.
2. Things you really need to know about rosemary
I have an urge to spotlight familiar and everyday plants and herbs (that most of us have a forgotten pot of at the back of the spice cupboard), to share what they are truly capable of.
Medicinal, beauty, culinary, home and more.
3. The single best thing my parents ever did for me
This is what my brother and I reckon to be the single best thing our parents ever suggested we do as children.
We both believe it's been integral in defining the adults we have become.
4. The art of taking a break from things
I wrote about the need to occasionally take a break from things, people, our everyday lives, the news etc, and how we shouldn't feel guilty about this and it doesn't mean we don't care.
We shared what totally freaks us out that most people are fine with. Some good’uns!
This time last year
Here are the pieces I published in April last year you might also enjoy this month:
In pursuit of less — how decluttering my home changed the course of my life
An interview I did about my love for gardening
Sunday Reflections: the secret of life, what you don’t want
A big WELCOME to new community members
Should you join this community and leave a message when doing so, it would be a lovely thing to read and I’ll be sure to share it in these monthly round-ups.
To Claire, Charlie and all the other new members who have joined this month, welcome!
Upcoming April announcement
A few times in recent months I have alluded to things that are going on.
Big things.
I haven’t yet said what they are, I’ve just made annoyingly vague references to ‘being busy’ and that 2025 was going to be major.
Well, I’ll finally be making the announcement at the end of this month and sharing what it is I’ve remained so elusive about for so long.
I honestly cannot wait to reveal this to you all!
All I will say is, if you like double announcements, I suggest you make sure you’re subscribed…
Sunday is for awakening the mind, body and spirit 🧘
Now let’s begin.
Today’s topic: it’s time to start the thing you’ve been putting off
