Welcome to Sunday Reflections ☕
For new subscribers, welcome to our twice monthly gathering! This is our intimate and friendly space for community and accountability.
How it works
On two Sundays each month I pose a prompt or question which we discuss (and say hi) in the comments. Topics tend to cover self-empowerment and personal growth and these weekly check-ins allow us to share our wisdoms and get to know ourselves and the other members of the A Day Well Spent community better.
Feel free to have a browse through previous Sunday Reflections to get an idea of the stuff we talk about.
Bom dia from Portugal
Today’s reflections come to you from Lisbon, again! I was last here in November. I really do love this city, I’ve started to lose count as to how many times I’ve visited.
I’ve spent a long weekend here with my husband and in-laws (it’s their first time) and you better believe we’ve hit up nearly all 10 of my favourite spots in Lisbon. The eating has been predictably excellent.
Tomorrow, my family head back to London but I will be making my way solo into rural, central Portugal.
My next two weeks will be spent working on three different farms (in exchange for food and accommodation) in order to gain hands on permaculture experience. And just because I find this kind of outdoor graft under the sunshine soul-enriching and mind-cleansing, it’s one of my favourite things to do.
I expect I’ll be helping out with farm animals, clearing land, putting up fences, pruning and sowing, dipping into rivers, reading books. It’s the first time I’ve done anything like this and I’ve never previously met the people I’ll be staying with. It’s going to be a very off-grid experience and I really can’t wait.
A Day Well Spent service will remain uninterrupted during this time and I’m sure I’ll want write about the trip when I’m back too.
Before we begin
A quick and huge thank you to everyone who turned up to the first ever A Day Well Spent virtual meet-up last Saturday!
I am amazed so many of you joined the Zoom! It was such a joyous thing to actually see and hear community members in one place, speaking and animated and with your gorgeous faces. I absolutely loved meeting you guys and I had a really enjoyable hour and 20 mins with you all.
I will endeavour to organise another one later in the day so it’s suitable for those in Europe and eastwards.
Now let’s begin.
