π¬ Sunday Reflections #63 (I met God at the supermarket)
A piece of spoken word poetry I love and this time last year
Hi! This is Leyla from A Day Well Spent, a newsletter about purposeful living.
May is over, my debut book Pathways is officially sold out and so it is back to business as usual here on A Day Well Spent. Which means, the return of Sunday Reflections β hooray!
Welcome to Sunday Reflections β
On two Sundays each month I pose a prompt or question which we discuss (and say hi) in the comments. This is our intimate and friendly space for community and accountability.
Topics tend to cover self-empowerment and personal growth and these regular check-ins allow us to share our wisdoms and get to know ourselves and the other members of the A Day Well Spent community better.
Feel free to have a browse through previous Sunday Reflections to get an idea of the stuff we talk about.
This SR is slightly different in that there are no prompts today, instead Iβm sharing a piece of spoken word poetry I came across, that I think you are going to absolutely love.
But firstβ¦
The May round-up
There were quite a few pieces from May and in case you missed any, here they all are in one handy list:
1. I've written my debut book. In secret.
This was my official big double announcement!
2. Why I'm leaving the only life I've known
Please enjoy this conversation between two good friends about big life things, a conversation between me and Rosie Birkett.
3. 'I don't have a book in me'
How I wrote my first book, despite believing this for years. And how Pathways even came to be.
4. 9 books that literally changed my life
This reading list is at the back of Pathways. But there wasnβt enough space to expand on them there, so I've done that here.
5. We are completely responsible for our own lives
No one is coming to save us - why I wrote my book, in 10 questions.
6. When the Land Calls, the Only Answer Is Yes
A little bit of backstory about my upcoming huge life upheaval.
This time last year
Here are the pieces I published in June last year you might also enjoy this month:
How we had a London wedding for less than Β£15,000
How to make a daily sweet treat that's actually good for you
Sunday reflections: what we cannot see, home hacks and empowerment
Recent Notes
For those who read my posts via email (which is the vast majority of you), the Substack platform has a thing called Notes β a bit like Twitter, but nicer.
Here are some recent Notes Iβve shared you might enjoy. Clicking on them will take you directly to the Note itself, expanding the full thing and displaying all the images.
A big WELCOME to new community members
Should you join this community and leave a message when doing so, it would be a lovely thing to read and Iβll be sure to share it in these monthly round-ups.

(Anne is referring to this food, wine and music festival in Portugal coming up in September β which Iβve dubbed Europeβs best kept festival secret β at which I shall most definitely be!)
A big welcome to Karen, Anne and all other recent new joiners!
Sunday is for awakening the mind, body and spirit π§
Now letβs begin.
