π¬ Sunday Reflections #54 (December rituals)
Do you have end of year rituals? These are mine. Plus the November round-up and end-of-month features
Hi! This is Leyla from A Day Well Spent, a newsletter seeking pathways to more purposeful living.
Hello, December π―οΈ
For new subscribers welcome to Sunday Reflections, our twice monthly gathering. This is our intimate and friendly space for community and accountability. And the last (or first) Sunday of the month is always a juicy one.
How it works
On two Sundays each month I pose a prompt or question which we discuss (and say hi) in the comments.
Topics tend to cover self-empowerment and personal growth and these regular check-ins allow us to share our wisdoms and get to know ourselves and the other members of the A Day Well Spent community better.
Feel free to have a browse through previous Sunday Reflections to get an idea of the stuff we talk about.
Before we begin, the November round-up
In case you missed them, here are all my published pieces from last month in one handy list.
1. The path of evolution? Embracing change
I wrote about how my path of evolution has involved embracing change, how life happens at the edges, how Nature is always trying to increase its edge, and learning to welcome entropy.
2. I still really, really donβt like shopping
As we approach (and are now firmly in the grip of) silly season, I felt a pressing need to resurface a piece I wrote on A Day Well Spent, right back in its infancy, with a new foreword.
Which includes a peek into my little black book of brands doing actual good in the world, Part 1 and Part 2.
3. Dining out solo: why everyone should try it
My top tips on how to do it and actually enjoy it.
Includes my favourite solo dining spot in Europe β a table specifically for no more than one person (hint: itβs in Lisbon).
I went to a day of talks at a Buddhist centre about that thing no one likes to talk about β death and dying.
It was uplifting, empowering, informative, poignant, thought-provoking, generous, comforting and enlightening. This is what I learnt.
I asked you, the community, if you have tried any medicine that falls outside of the mainstream β the responses have been eye opening to say the least.
You shared your definitions of friendship and what friendship means to you. I find it so fascinating that this word doesnβt quite mean exactly the same thing to everyone.
This time last year
Here are the pieces I published in December last year you might also enjoy this month:
'Everything and nothing are happening Now, all at once' β an interview
Sunday Reflections: small gratitudes
A big WELCOME to new community members
Should you join this community and leave a message when doing so, it would be a lovely thing to read and Iβll be sure to share it in these monthly round-ups.
To all new members who have joined this month, welcome!
Sunday is for awakening the mind, body and spirit π§
Now letβs begin.
