My little black book of brands I choose to spend my money with
A few weeks ago, I wrote a piece about the reasons I really, really don’t like shopping. It’s about the stuff that make up our things, the gradual cleaning up of my consumption and why it takes a lot for me to part with my money.
Before I embark on a new customer relationship with a brand or business, I will spend literal hours researching different options to figure out who is most deserving of my hard earned cash in terms of what they’re offering and the good they are doing in the world.
I have done this for years, even when buying the smallest thing. All this research has been distilled down into my little black book of brands I choose to spend my money with and that I endorse.
I call it The List and I occasionally share a peek into it.
The first instalment is here:
Today’s post is the next instalment and I think you’re going to love it.
The List is behind a paywall for two main reasons. Firstly, to ensure its integrity and that no brands can pay their way onto it. Secondly, because I attach high value to these collections and the hours of groundwork I’ve undergone to compile them. I hope you do too.
I also contact these businesses (post publication) to see if they would like to be involved in exclusive giveaways for A Day Well Spent supporters. A lucky reader won a subscription to my favourite ever magazine from the last one!
Once I become a customer, I’m usually one for life - I’ve done the trawling and checking so you don’t have to.
And so, here are 5 more of my favourite brands and businesses I am a customer of that also have a positive impact on the world.
As always, thank you for being here and I hope you enjoy this collection.
