Hi! This is Leyla from A Day Well Spent, a newsletter seeking pathways to more purposeful living.
What subscribers received recently:
The rural life of self-sufficiency: why I want it — but am I cut out for what it takes? I worked on three farms in Portugal to find out (there have been such lovely comments and discussions under this - thank you!)
‘Do it for your future self’ — a quickfire interview with serial language learner, lifelong journaller, TV host and entrepreneur, Jo Franco
The secret of life — based around a sentence I recently read that has made a lasting impact on me
Welcome to Sunday Reflections ☕
For new subscribers, welcome to our twice monthly gathering! This is our intimate and friendly space for community and accountability.
How it works
On two Sundays each month I pose a prompt or question which we discuss (and say hi) in the comments. Topics tend to cover self-empowerment and personal growth and these weekly check-ins allow us to share our wisdoms and get to know ourselves and the other members of the A Day Well Spent community better.
Feel free to have a browse through previous Sunday Reflections to get an idea of the stuff we talk about.
But first, some dates for your diary
I’ll be chairing the Food Wisdom conversation at Charleston Literary Festival (Sussex) this week on Thurs 16th May — do say hi if you happen to be there.
I will be one of the critics cooking at the Too Many Critics charity event to raise vital funds for Action Against Hunger on Tues 25th June in London. You can enjoy a three course dinner and drinks cooked by ‘some of Britain’s top food critics’ - that’s me. Tickets are now live (it’s going to be an excellent evening) and so is the silent auction (with amazing foodie prizes).
Now let’s begin.
Today’s discussion topic: routines and rituals
