The other day at dinner, we were talking about the cost of living.
My two friends — each with a toddler and another on the way — had recently been taking a closer look at their finances to figure out why their generous monthly wages were vanishing so quickly.
I found it interesting that both sets of friends were experiencing the same thing. Sure, my husband and I don’t have kids (who come with their own hefty price tags) and the cost of living is unquestionably higher than it was.
But even so, we are never short on money and have a healthy amount of savings.
This is not because we earn fortunes by any stretch (though we're certainly comfortable); we’re just naturally frugal people. We are ‘frugal hedonists’, a new term I learnt just last week (more on that below).
