I'm on the cover of a magazine!
Read by 7 million people each month - eeeep. With a big feature inside too
Hello! This is Leyla from A Day Well Spent, a newsletter seeking pathways to more purposeful living.
And this is a quick note to share something very exciting with you, my dear readers — I’m on the cover of a magazine!
Should you happen to be flying with easyJet any time soon, you will find my face beaming up at you from the cover of the January edition of their inflight magazine called easyJet Traveller, read by seven million passengers each month.
The issue went on board on Thursday 9th January and should be there for a month.
The shoot took place in Lisbon (one of my favourite cities) back in September. If you head to the feature inside, you’ll find more snaps of me from the shoot plus a piece I wrote about this glorious city, including some of my regular haunts (here are some more of my favourite spots in Lisbon).
This experience was a few firsts for me.
It’s the first time I’ve had a professional photo shoot (my wedding doesn’t count), the first time I’ve worked with a stylist and the first time I’ve been on the cover of a magazine. So it feels like a pretty big deal.
I wrote about my experience of the whole thing in I was recently asked to define my style.
A huge thank you once again to everyone involved who made it such a special day. And especially to editor Andy who thought of me for this in the first place and got in touch with his very generous and somewhat unexpected, ‘You have such an incredible sense of style’ comment.
Some people who follow me on social media have already started to send me pictures of the magazine from their flights, which feels kind of crazy but also extremely cool.
If anyone reading this happens to see a copy out in the wild and wants to take a selfie with it and send it to me, I would so love that! If I get enough, I may make a little collage from them for posterity.
Also I love the fact they decided to put the title of this newsletter — A Day Well Spent — on the cover! A day well spent in Lisbon it absolutely was.
The publishers have kindly attempted to FedEx a copy to me in Buenos Aires where I currently am, but the package seems to have been stuck in Memphis, Tennessee for the past five days.
